Collection: Satin Spar (Selenite)

Selenite is a variety of gypsum (CaSO₄·2H₂O), a soft, hydrated calcium sulfate mineral that commonly forms through the evaporation of saline or mineral-rich waters. It can occur as clear, transparent crystals with a glassy to pearly luster, often forming large blades or plates. Satin Spar is also gypsum, but refers specifically to the fibrous variety, whose tightly packed, parallel fibers create its characteristic silky or satin-like sheen. So, selenite and satin spar are different varieties or crystal habits of gypsum, but in the market both are known under Selenite's name.

Energetically, selenite is traditionally associated with clarity, purification, and subtle spiritual connection. It is often used in crystal practices to clear stagnant energy, create a calm and peaceful atmosphere, and support meditation or connection with higher states of awareness. Satin Spar is generally considered to carry similar properties, but its fibrous structure and luminous, silky appearance are often symbolically associated with flow, movement, and gentle energetic cleansing.
