Collection: Tourmalinated Quartz

Tourmalinated Quartz is a fascinating combination of Clear Quartz with inclusions of black Tourmaline needles (schorl). The inclusions form during the Quartz’s crystallization process, as both minerals grow simultaneously and the Tourmaline becomes trapped within the Quartz crystal. This striking mix of two distinct minerals creates a unique stone with both clarity and dark, hair-like inclusions. The Tourmaline needles are often black due to iron content, giving it a contrasting appearance against the lighter quartz.

Tourmalinated Quartz is commonly found in pegmatites and hydrothermal veins where Quartz and Tourmaline co-occur. Major sources include Brazil, the United States and Madagascar. You can also find beautiful specimens in Pakistan and in India.

Tourmalinated Quartz combines the protective and grounding energy of black Tourmaline with the amplifying, clarifying properties of Quartz. It is believed to shield against negativity, promote emotional balance, and enhance personal growth. This stone is thought to cleanse and strengthen energy, providing both stability and resilience.
