Collection: Carnelian

Carnelian is an orange-colored variety of chalcedony, from the Quartz family, with a hardness of 7. Always translucent, its color can vary from pale orange to deep red-orange and sometimes may be banded in varying shades.

Its name is derived from the Latin word carneus, meaning "flesh" or "flesh-colored," referencing the stone's rich red to orange hues that resemble the color of flesh or blood.

Carnelian has been admired since antiquity for its vibrant color and was used extensively in ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Rome for jewelry and talismans. Its name reflects both its physical appearance and its symbolic connection to life, vitality, and energy

It is a powerful aid to build confidence, courage, passion and power within. It promotes focus, motivation, stimulation, dilutes apathy, increases physical energy and personal power to act toward one´s goal. Thus, it is helpful in manifestation work. It also helps the reproductive system, balancing menstrual cycles, reducing menstrual pain. In men it strengthens the prostate. Carnelian activates the first, second and third chakras, bringing an influx of life force, sexual and creative energies, and assertive will.

The finest Carnelians are found in India, although most of the stones found in market come from Brazil and Uruguay.
