Collection: Hyalite Opal

Hyalite Opal is a transparent to translucent form of common opal that forms as a secondary mineral in volcanic environments. It typically develops as botryoidal (grape-like) or globular coatings inside gas cavities of rhyolitic or basaltic rocks, deposited from low-temperature silica-rich fluids. It has an amorphous structure and contains up to 3–8% water.

Unlike precious opal, hyalite lacks play-of-color but is notable for its glassy appearance and, in some cases, its strong green fluorescence under UV light due to trace amounts of uranium. It has an amorphous structure and contains up to 3–8% water.

Energetically, Hyalite Opal is often associated with clarity, flow, and lightness of being. Its water-like transparency is believed to promote emotional purification and energetic fluidity, helping to release stagnant energy and support adaptability in times of transition. Many consider it a crystal of subtle perception and heightened intuition, encouraging presence and attunement to the unseen. Its glow under UV light also makes it symbolic of hidden inner radiance and spiritual insight that becomes visible in the right conditions.
