Collection: Mesolite

Mesolite is a tectosilicate mineral that is similar in appearance, formation and composition to Natrolite and Scolecite.

Its name derives from the Greek words meso, which means middle, and lythos, which means stone, since its composition is between the compositions of Natrolite and Scolecite.

It usually forms as needle-shaped radiant crystals that are quite sharp and can penetrate our skin.

Although it is normally found in white or transparent, this specimen from Madhya Pradesh, India, has Hematite inclusion that gives it this pinkish-orange color.
